Rosemary is an evergreen shrub, an ancient medicinal and aromatic plant that is native to the Mediterranean and favours calcareous, sunny locations. Rosemary produces different chemotypes depending on the location, such as R. CT Cineol or R. CT Verbenon. In ancient times, rosemary was dedicated to Aphrodite and symbolised fidelity. Rosemary was a component of the famous "Hungarian Water", one of the oldest perfumes. It is an ingredient in the "Herbs of Provence" seasoning mix and an important raw material for perfumery, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
