One of the most important factors in protecting the skin is avoiding too much UV radiation. However, not all skin reacts in the same way when exposed to sunlight. Depending on how the skin reacts to UV radiation and based on a number of external characteristics, a total of six skin types are distinguished:

• Type VI ("black skin type"): black skin and black hair, dark eyes - reacts less sensitively to sunlight, very rarely gets sunburnt
