Iodine - the forgotten trace element

Iodine is a trace element and has numerous functions in the body. Among other things, iodine is a component of the thyroid hormone thyroxine and is therefore of central importance for the functioning of the metabolism. All human organ systems are dependent on this trace element. The functions of iodine also include
