The face is exposed to particular stresses every day. Wind, cold, UV radiation and environmental influences can dry out sensitive facial skin and weaken its natural protective barrier. Normal to dry skin in particular then needs a targeted face cream that provides long-lasting moisturisation and strengthens the skin barrier.

PHYSIOGEL® Daily Moisture Therapy face cream has been specially developed for daily use. Its unique BioMimetic technology mimics the natural structures of the skin and thus repairs the skin barrier. The active complex of skin-like lipids, moisturising ingredients such as glycerin and squalane and skin barrier-supporting ceramides effectively protects against recurring dryness, restores the skin's elasticity and ensures smooth, healthier-looking skin.

The cream is free from potentially irritating ingredients such as fragrances and colourants. This gives your facial skin the daily care it needs to feel comfortable and protected.

Active ingredients

• Ceramides are an important component of our skin barrier, more specifically the lipid layer, which forms part of the skin barrier. The lipid layer seals the horny cells (corneocytes) of the uppermost skin layer and thus prevents fluid loss. Skin-related ceramides in our skincare products are optimally integrated into this natural skin barrier, help it to regenerate and can thus protect the skin from moisture loss.
  
• Glycerin is a sugar alcohol and occurs as a natural moisturising factor (NMF) in the body and the skin. As an NMF, glycerine is therefore an important part of our skin barrier. When added to cosmetics, it binds moisture from the environment and thus moisturises the skin. It also ensures that the skin's own moisture evaporates less and promotes skin elasticity. It is sometimes claimed that glycerine has a negative and drying effect, but only in very high concentrations and if no lipids or other NMFs are added - this is of course not the case with us.
• Squalene is produced by the sebaceous glands and is a component of the skin's own lipid film, which maintains skin moisture and performs an important barrier function. As squalene itself is not long-lasting, it is replaced in skin care products by the hydrogenated/stabilised form squalane. In cosmetics, it acts as a moisturiser, soothes the skin and makes (scalp) skin soft and supple.

The BioMimetic technology

PHYSIOGEL® Daily Moisture Therapy face cream and many of our other skincare products have been developed using the tried-and-tested BioMimetic technology. It is modelled on the natural structure of skin lipids/oils. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the horny cells - and only in this structure can our skin barrier fulfil its important functions.

In our skincare, we use lipids that correspond to those of the skin, also form lamellae and can therefore fit perfectly into our skin's own lipid lamellae - we give the skin back what it lacks.

The result is rebalanced skin and a strong skin barrier that protects us from the environment and traps moisture in the skin, allowing our skin to be radiant, elastic and healthy.
