PHYSIOGEL® Daily Moisture Therapy Body Lotion Children’s Edition is a light, fast-absorbing body lotion – ideal for the particularly delicate and sensitive skin of babies and children. Its unique BioMimetic Technology mimics the natural structures of the skin’s lipid barrier. The active complex, comprising skin-like lipids – including ceramides and squalane (lipid content: 18 per cent) – and moisturising ingredients, regenerates and repairs the skin barrier from within – and provides reliable protection against recurring dryness.

The lotion impresses with its pleasantly light texture: it absorbs quickly and is easy to apply all over the body – free from fragrances, colourants, silicones, paraffins and conventional preservatives*. Clinically tested under dermatological supervision, it is ideal for the daily skincare routine of babies and children.

Active ingredients

• Ceramides are an important component of the skin barrier; more specifically, the lipid layer, which forms part of the skin barrier. The lipid layer seals the keratinocytes in the outermost layer of the skin, thereby preventing moisture loss. Skin-compatible ceramides in our skincare products integrate perfectly into this natural skin barrier, helping it to regenerate and thus protecting the skin against moisture loss.
• Glycerine is a sugar alcohol and occurs naturally in the body and skin as a natural moisturising factor (NMF). As an NMF, glycerine is therefore an important component of our skin barrier. When added to cosmetics, it binds moisture from the environment and thus hydrates the skin. It also helps to reduce the evaporation of the skin’s own moisture and promotes skin elasticity.
• Squalene is produced by the sebaceous glands and is a component of the skin’s own lipid film, which maintains the skin’s moisture levels and performs an important barrier function. As squalene itself does not have a long shelf life, it is replaced in skincare products by its hydrogenated/stabilised form, squalane. In cosmetics, it acts as a humectant, soothes the skin and leaves it soft and supple.

BioMimetic Technology

The PHYSIOGEL® Daily Moisture Therapy Body Lotion Children’s Edition and many of our other skincare products have been developed using our proven BioMimetic Technology. This technology is modelled on the natural structure of the skin’s lipids and fats. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the keratinocytes – and it is only within this structure that our skin barrier can perform its vital functions. In our skincare products, we use lipids that correspond to those found in the skin, which also form lamellae and can therefore integrate perfectly into the skin’s own lipid lamellae – we give the skin back what it is lacking. The result is the restoration of the skin’s balance and a strong skin barrier that protects against environmental factors and locks moisture into the skin. The lotion’s light, quickly absorbed texture makes it a particularly pleasant experience to apply – ideal for active children or when you’re in a rush in the morning. This is the only way to ensure that even the youngest children’s skin remains soft, supple and healthy.
