What is important in a body lotion for men

Men prefer skin care that is easy to use, absorbs quickly and is practical for everyday use. This is particularly important after sport or hot showers, when the skin needs special care. Active ingredients

• Behenic acid is a saturated fatty acid found in various vegetable oils. In cosmetics, it moisturises, helps soften the skin and forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface to prevent moisture from escaping. Together with behenyl alcohol, a saturated fatty alcohol and important emulsifier (also of natural origin), the two ingredients give the products exclusive properties that reduce moisture loss for a long time.
• Glycerine is a sugar alcohol and occurs as a natural moisturising factor (NMF) in the body and skin. As an NMF, glycerine is therefore an important part of our skin barrier. When added to cosmetics, it binds moisture from the environment and thus moisturises the skin. It also ensures that the skin's own moisture evaporates less and promotes skin elasticity. It is sometimes claimed that glycerine has a negative and drying effect, but only in very high concentrations and if no lipids or other NMFs are added - this is of course not the case with us.
• Panthenol / provitamin B5 is converted into vitamin B5 in the skin, which plays a key role in the metabolism of skin cells. It strengthens the natural skin barrier, promotes the regeneration of skin cells, inhibits inflammation, moisturises and leaves the skin feeling pleasantly soft.

The BioMimetic technology

PHYSIOGEL® Daily Moisture Therapy Body Lotion MEN and many of our other skincare products have been developed using tried-and-tested BioMimetic technology. It is modelled on the natural structure of skin lipids/oils. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the horny cells - and only in this structure can our skin barrier fulfil its important functions. In our skin care, we use lipids that correspond to those of the skin, that also form lamellae and can therefore fit perfectly into our skin's own lipid lamellae - we give the skin back what it lacks. The result is a rebalancing of the skin and a strong skin barrier that offers us protection from the environment and traps moisture in the skin. Only in this way can our skin be radiant, elastic and healthy.
