Soothing care for sensitive facial skin

Our facial skin is exposed to external influences every day and sensitive, allergic or atopic dermatitis-prone skin reacts quickly with redness, dryness or feelings of tightness. These skin problems are often caused by a weakened skin barrier.

PHYSIOGEL® Calming Relief Serum with the skin-soothing active complex of PEA and skin-related lipids was specially developed for sensitive, allergic skin and skin prone to neurodermatitis. It has an immediate and long-lasting soothing effect, reduces feelings of tightness and strengthens the skin barrier. The serum also contains the moisturising ingredients glycerine and hyaluronic acid. The skin feels soft, smooth and supple. Free from potentially irritating additives such as fragrances and colourants, the serum is ideal as a supplement to basic facial care. An application study has shown that the majority of users were able to dispense with topical products for the treatment of neurodermatitis by using the serum as a basic care product.

Active ingredients

• Glycerin is a sugar alcohol and occurs as a natural moisturising factor (NMF) in the body and skin. As an NMF, glycerine is therefore an important part of our skin barrier. When added to cosmetics, it binds moisture from the environment and thus moisturises the skin. It also ensures that the skin's own moisture evaporates less and promotes skin elasticity. It is sometimes claimed that glycerine has a negative and drying effect, but only in very high concentrations and if no lipids or other NMFs are added - this is of course not the case with us.
• Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the human body, especially in the skin and connective tissue. In skin care, it is valued for its ability to bind large amounts of moisture. It helps to intensively hydrate the skin, improve its elasticity and strengthen the skin barrier - for a smooth, plump and healthy-looking complexion.
• Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a naturally occurring lipid mediator in all body cells. PEA is formed in response to harmful stimuli and then has a cell-protecting, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. In our products, PEA helps to reduce itching and redness.

The BioMimetic technology

PHYSIOGEL® Calming Relief Serum and many of our other skincare products have been developed using the tried-and-tested BioMimetic technology. It is modelled on the natural structure of skin lipids/oils. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the horny cells - and only in this structure can our skin barrier fulfil its important functions.

In our skincare, we use lipids that correspond to those of the skin, also form lamellae and can therefore fit perfectly into our skin's own lipid lamellae - we give the skin back what it lacks.

The result is rebalanced skin and a strong skin barrier that protects us from the environment and traps moisture in the skin, allowing our skin to be radiant, elastic and healthy.

How to use

• Apply to cleansed face in the morning and evening.
• Tip: The micelle cleansing fluid is ideal if you need to cleanse quickly in the morning. The Gentle Cleansing Milk provides your skin with additional moisture in the evening. The face cream can be applied as additional care after the serum.
