Relieves the symptoms of neurodermatitis and nappy rash

In Germany, around 23% of infants and toddlers and 8% of schoolchildren suffer from atopic dermatitis at least some of the time. This makes it the most common chronic inflammatory skin disease in children. It is most common in 3 to 6-year-olds^.1 It is estimated that 50% of all children between the ages of 0 and 2 develop nappy rash^.2 PHYSIOGEL® Calming Relief A.I. Cream Children's Edition is ideal for the care of sensitive children's skin - for both atopic dermatitis and nappy rash. It is free from cortisone, fragrances, colourants and classic preservatives (in accordance with EU cosmetics regulations). A skin-soothing active complex of skin-related lipids and palmitoylethanolamine (PEA) soothes itching and redness and cares for the skin naturally and gently.

Active ingredients

• Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a naturally occurring lipid mediator in all body cells. PEA is formed in response to harmful stimuli and then has a cell-protecting, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. In our products, PEA helps to reduce itching and redness.
• Squalene is produced by the sebaceous glands and is a component of the skin's own lipid film, which maintains skin moisture and fulfils an important barrier function. As squalene itself is not long-lasting, it is replaced in skin care products by the hydrogenated/stabilised form squalane. In cosmetics, it acts as a moisturiser, soothes the skin and makes it soft and supple.
• The term lecithin describes a group of lipids (fats) that also contain phosphorus. It occurs naturally in all animal and plant cells. In skin care products, it serves primarily as a moisturiser and emulsifier. Lecithin can also strengthen the natural skin barrier and protect the skin from premature dehydration.

The BioMimetic technology

PHYSIOGEL® Calming Relief A.I. Cream and many of our other skincare products have been developed using the proven BioMimetic technology. It is modelled on the natural structure of skin lipids/oils. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the horny cells - and only in this structure can our skin barrier fulfil its important functions. We use lipids in our skincare that correspond to those of the skin, that also form lamellae and can therefore fit perfectly into our skin's own lipid lamellae - we give the skin back what it lacks. The result is a rebalancing of the skin and a strong skin barrier that offers us protection from the environment and traps moisture in the skin. Only then can our skin be radiant, elastic and healthy.
