Neurodermatitis (atopic dermatitis) is the most common chronic inflammatory skin condition in childhood and affects a large proportion of the young population. In Germany, around 23% of infants and toddlers, as well as approximately 8% of schoolchildren, are affected from time to time. ¹ 

The light, quickly absorbed and moisturising Calming Relief A.I. Body Lotion Children’s Edition is ideal for full-body care of sensitive children’s skin affected by dryness and neurodermatitis. The lotion is free from cortisone, fragrances, colourants and conventional preservatives (in accordance with the EU Cosmetics Regulation) and is therefore particularly gentle on the skin. Thanks to its skin-soothing active complex of skin-identical lipids and palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), it helps to relieve itching and redness all over the body. This provides effective, gentle and natural care for children’s sensitive skin affected by dryness and atopic dermatitis – day after day.

Key ingredients

• Palmitoylethanolamide ( PEA) is a lipid mediator that occurs naturally in all the body’s cells. PEA is produced in response to harmful stimuli and then acts to protect cells, relieve pain and reduce inflammation. In our products, PEA helps to reduce itching and redness.
• Ceramides are an important component of our skin barrier – more specifically, the lipid layer that forms part of the skin barrier. The lipid layer seals the keratinocytes in the outermost layer of the skin, thereby preventing moisture loss. Skin-compatible ceramides in our skincare products integrate perfectly into this natural skin barrier, helping it to regenerate and thereby protecting the skin from moisture loss.
• The term ‘lecithin’ refers to a group of lipids (fats) that also contain phosphorus. It occurs naturally in all animal and plant cells. In skincare products, it primarily serves as a moisturiser and emulsifier. Furthermore, lecithin can strengthen the natural skin barrier and protect the skin from premature ageing.

BioMimetic Technology

The PHYSIOGEL® Calming Relief A.I. Body Lotion Children’s Edition and many of our other skincare products have been developed using our proven BioMimetic Technology. This technology is modelled on the natural structure of the skin’s lipids. In our epidermis, three types of lipids (ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol) form neatly stacked lamellae that surround the keratinocytes – and it is only within this structure that our skin barrier can perform its vital functions. In our skincare products, we use lipids that correspond to those found in the skin, which also form lamellae and can therefore integrate perfectly into the skin’s own lipid lamellae – we give the skin back what it is lacking. The result is the restoration of the skin’s balance and a strong skin barrier that protects us from the environment and locks moisture into the skin. Only in this way can our skin be radiant, supple and healthy.
