- Red yeast rice is a type of rice with a characteristic red colour. It is a reddish-purple fermented rice, whose colour stems from the fact that it is grown on the yeast fungus Monascus purpureus. Red yeast rice contains a range of compounds known as monacolins, each designated by its own letter. In addition, red yeast rice contains a range of unsaturated fatty acids and phytosterols.
- In Asia, red yeast rice is frequently used in cooking to enhance flavour and aid preservation, and in China its use can be traced back thousands of years.
Dosage form
Directions for use
- Take 1 tablet daily with any meal, with sufficient liquid. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
- Notes: Should not be consumed by pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 18 years of age, or adults over 70 years of age. If you experience any health issues, seek medical advice regarding the consumption of this product. Should not be consumed: - If you are taking cholesterol-lowering medication. - If you are already taking other products that contain red yeast rice.
- Please note: Drinking grapefruit juice may interfere with the effects of monacolin K and should therefore only be consumed in moderation.
