- Red mould rice is rice with a characteristic red colour. It is a reddish-purple fermented rice whose colour comes from the fact that it is grown on the yeast fungus Monascus purpureus. Red mould rice contains a number of substances known as monacolins, each labelled with its own letter. Red mould rice also contains a number of unsaturated fatty acids and phytosterols.
- In Asia, red mould rice is often used in cooking to improve flavour and preservation, and its use in China can be traced back thousands of years.
Dosage form
How to use
- Take 1 tablet daily with any meal with sufficient liquid. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Advice: Should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 18 and adults over 70. Seek medical advice before consuming this product if you experience any health problems. Should not be consumed: - If you are taking cholesterol-lowering medication - If you are already consuming other products containing red mould rice.
- Note: The consumption of grapefruit juice can impair the effect of Monacolin K and should therefore only be consumed in moderation.
