Otobar® nasal balloon is used to facilitate pressure equalisation in the middle ear. This aid makes it easy to equalise the pressure in the middle ear in the event of ventilation problems.
Otobar is a system to relieve pressure in the ears and consists of a nose piece made of hard plastic (polypropylene) and a latex balloon. The latex balloon should be inflated by the user via the nose piece. To do this, one nostril is closed manually with a finger and Otobar is attached to the other nostril. The balloon should then be inflated over the nose to approximately the size of an orange. According to the manufacturer's instructions, Otobar should be used several times a day for several weeks or months.
- Indications: According to the manufacturer's instructions, Otobar can be used in children from the age of 3.5 and in adults for complaints with negative pressure in the middle ear (impaired middle ear ventilation).
Dosage form
Contents: 1 nasal adapter + 5 balloons.
Application
- According to the manufacturer's instructions, the balloon should be replaced after 20 to 30 applications.
- Note: According to the manufacturer's instructions, Otobar must not be used in the case of a severe cold to prevent germs from being carried into the middle ear.
