Optiderm® fat cream, 50 G

Optiderm® Oily Cream is an over-the-counter medicine for the supportive treatment of skin conditions with itching and dry skin.

Optiderm Fat Cream contains 2 active ingredients, urea and polidocanol. Urea is a substance that is also found in the skin as a component of natural moisturising factors.

• Urea increases the water-binding capacity of the horny layer; in addition, this substance is said to have antibacterial, antipruritic and slightly anaesthetic effects. Urea is non-allergenic.
• Polidocanol, a surface anaesthetic, has an analgesic and antipruritic effect. The local tolerability of polidocanol is good.

Thanks to the combination of these two active ingredients, Optiderm Fat Cream has significant pain and itch-relieving properties.

The skin's moisture content is also significantly increased.

In addition, Optiderm Fat Cream significantly moisturises the skin and thus reduces skin roughness. If the skin does not require a pronounced moisturising effect, Optiderm cream is available.

Optiderm Fat Cream is used

• to moisturise the horny layer
• to moisturise and relieve itching as a supportive treatment for skin diseases with very dry and/or itchy skin such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis) or in cases of skin damage caused by dehydration, e.g. caused by washing-up liquids and detergents (exsiccation eczema)
• for the further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.

Optiderm Fat Cream must not be used

• if you are allergic to urea, polidocanol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• if your skin is reddened and scaly all over your body (erythroderma)
• if your skin is inflamed, oozing and you have a skin infection.

How to use

• Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply Optiderm Fat Cream evenly and thinly to the skin twice a day.
• Method of application: For application to the skin.
• Duration of use: The duration of treatment depends on the improvement that has occurred and is generally 3 weeks. If the skin dryness persists, you can continue treatment for a longer period after consulting a doctor.

Ingredients

• The active ingredients are urea and polidocanol. 100 g cream contains 5 g urea and 3 g polidocanol.
• The other ingredients are Medium-chain triglycerides, viscous paraffin, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, polyoxyethylene-21-stearyl ether, polyoxyethylene-2-stearyl ether, 1,3 butylene glycol, sodium lactate solution, lactic acid, disodium edetate, purified water.
