The OPSITE POST-OP sterile film dressing from Smith & Nephew is a transparent, breathable and waterproof film dressing with an absorbent wound pad. It offers reliable protection and optimal conditions for wound healing following surgery.
A post-operative film dressing with a low risk of allergic reaction, featuring a low-adhesion absorbent wound pad and a film with a bacterial barrier, which can help protect incisions from surgical site infections.1-3
Postoperative care for closed surgical incisions
Medical guidelines for post-operative care recommend the use of a dressing which, when applied for the specified duration, promotes moist wound healing whilst allowing for continuous assessment of the wound.4
Properties
- Moisture vapourpermeable: A high moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR) helps excess moisture to evaporate.5–7
- Protects: Provides a barrier against bacteria and external contamination, which can help to minimise the risk of infection.2
- Waterproof: Allows the patient to shower.5,8
- Comfort: The low-tack wound contact layer helps to increase patient comfort and facilitate dressing removal.1,9
Film dressing with wound pad for the management of post-operative and acute wounds – sterile.
- Bacteria- and water-impermeable film allows patients to shower
- Particularly high water vapour permeability reduces moisture build-up and the risk of maceration
- Fewer dressing changes thanks to the highly absorbent wound pad
- Pain-free dressing changes thanks to the wound pad with anti-adhesion protection
- Grid-patterned adhesive application for pain-free dressing changes
- Skin-friendly polyacrylate adhesive
- The transparency of the film makes it easier to check the wound pad
- Elastic and adaptable
