Opsite Post-OP Visible is a post-operative wound dressing with a unique honeycomb-shaped wound pad that allows a direct view of the wound without changing the dressing. In addition, the bacteria-proof film prevents the penetration of germs from outside (including MRSA) and thus protects against secondary infections. Signs of infection can be recognised at an early stage and countermeasures can be initiated. The dressing can therefore be worn over a longer period of time. The transparent, waterproof film also allows the patient to shower. High water vapour permeability prevents excess moisture from accumulating under the dressing and thus prevents skin maceration. The particularly skin-friendly adhesive reduces the risk of skin irritation. The elasticity of the film also reduces the risk of tension blisters. In patients who have undergone total hip and knee replacement surgery, a reduction in the formation of tension blisters from 14% to 8% was recorded when using this dressing.
