Who is OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Thyro Formula designed for?

With a volume of just 18 to 25 ml, the thyroid gland is as small as a walnut, yet its impact is enormous. With the help of the trace elements iodine and selenium, it produces vital hormones that control key processes in the body – such as metabolism, energy balance, weight regulation, body temperature, cardiovascular function, growth and brain development. No wonder, then, that thyroid disorders affect many organs and bodily functions. The gut is also affected: thyroid hormones regulate its motility, blood flow and permeability.

Conversely, however, the gut also has a major influence on the thyroid: if the gut barrier is weakened – for example, due to a reduced gut microbiota – it can become permeable (experts refer to this as ‘leaky gut’). Trace elements & vitamins – the nutritional basis for thyroid function

OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Thyro Formula contains the trace elements iodine and selenium, which are essential for the production of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) and its conversion into its active form, triiodothyronine (T3). °Iodine and selenium contribute to the normal functioning of the thyroid gland. Iodine also supports normal energy metabolism. Selenium, zinc and vitamin B2 (riboflavin) help protect cells – such as thyroid cells – from oxidative stress. Zinc, selenium and vitamin D3 support the normal function of the immune system. This is also of great importance for the thyroid. This is because sufficient immune defences and an intact intestinal barrier prevent unwanted substances from entering the body and adversely affecting the thyroid.

Schisandra, Bacopa monnieri & Co – Antioxidant and adaptogenic plant matrix

• Take 1 capsule twice daily, in the morning and in the evening, without chewing, before a meal with sufficient liquid.
