Nutricia Milupa MSUD 1 powder is a food for special medical purposes (formula diet). It is intended for dietary management in infants during their first year of life with disorders of the metabolism of branched-chain amino acids (e.g. maple syrup urine disease).
An isoleucine-, leucine- and valine-free amino acid mixture containing carbohydrates, fortified with vitamins, minerals and trace elements to meet nutritional requirements.

Usage
- The diet requires an intake of energy, isoleucine, leucine, valine and fluids tailored to the patient’s needs.
- The total daily amount depends on the patient’s age, body weight and individual metabolic status. It is adjusted to the patient’s current metabolic status under regular medical supervision.
- The daily amount is divided into several individual doses and consumed together with calculated quantities of other foods (e.g. formula, complementary foods).
- In combination with a protein-free specialised formula (e.g. Milupa basic-p), it is very easy to prepare a specialised bottle feed free from isoleucine, leucine and valine.
- Notes: Use only under medical supervision. For infants in their first year of life with disorders of the branched-chain amino acid metabolism (e.g. maple syrup urine disease). Not suitable for exclusive feeding. Suitable for enteral feeding only.
