Nutricia MSUD 1 Infant Powder is a food for special medical purposes (formula diet). It is intended for dietary management in infants with disorders of the metabolism of branched-chain amino acids (e.g. maple syrup urine disease).
A specialised infant formula free from isoleucine, leucine and valine, containing carbohydrates and fat, and fortified with vitamins, minerals and trace elements to meet nutritional requirements.

Directions for use
- A diet incorporating this product requires an additional intake of isoleucine, leucine and valine tailored to the patient’s needs, for example from breast milk or infant formula.
- The total daily amount depends on the patient’s age, body weight and individual metabolic status. It is adjusted to the patient’s current metabolic status under regular medical supervision.
- Notes: Use only under medical supervision. For infants with disorders of the branched-chain amino acid metabolism (e.g. maple syrup urine disease). Not suitable for exclusive feeding. Suitable for enteral feeding only.
- Standard preparation:
15 g (3 measuring spoons) Nutricia MSUD 1-infant + 90 ml drinking water = 100 ml isoleucine-, leucine- and valine-free specialised infant formula.
