Nurofen® Rapid Mini 400 mg soft capsules are an over-the-counter medicine classified as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). These medicines provide relief by altering the body’s response to pain and fever.

Nurofen Rapid Mini is intended for use in adults and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (aged 12 years and over). Nurofen Rapid Mini is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothache, period pain, fever and pain associated with a cold.

Young people aged 12 and over and adults must consult a doctor if they do not feel better after 3 days or if their condition worsens.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (aged 12 years and over): Initial dose: Take 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen) with water. If necessary, take further doses of 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen), but do not exceed a total dose of 3 capsules (1200 mg ibuprofen) within a 24-hour period. The interval between doses must not be less than 6 hours. 
• Use in children: This medicine is not intended for use in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg or children under 12 years of age.
• Method of administration: For oral use. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not chew. It is recommended that patients with a sensitive stomach take this medicine with food. If taken shortly after a meal, the onset of the medicine’s effect may be delayed. If this is the case, do not take more of this medicine than recommended in this section, or until the correct interval for the next dose has elapsed.
• Duration of use: This medicine is intended for short-term use only. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen.

Ingredients

• What Nurofen Rapid Mini contains: The active ingredient is: ibuprofen. Each soft capsule contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.
• The other ingredients are: Filling: Macrogol (E1521), Potassium hydroxide (at least 85% purity) (E525), Purified water. Soft capsule shell: Liquid sorbitol (E420), partially dehydrated, Gelatine (E441), Ponceau 4R (E124). Printing ink: Opacode WB white NSP-78-180002 (consisting of titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520), SDA 35A alcohol (ethanol & ethyl acetate), isopropyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, purified water, macrogol/PEG MW400 (E1521) and ammonium hydroxide 28% (E527).
