Nurofen® Rapid Mini 400 mg soft capsules are an over-the-counter medicine known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines provide relief by altering the body's response to pain and fever.

Nurofen Rapid Mini is for use in adults and adolescents from 40 kg body weight (from 12 years of age). Nurofen Rapid Mini is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, menstrual pain, fever and pain associated with a cold.

Adolescents from the age of 12 and adults must consult a doctor if they do not feel better or even worse after 3 days.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents from 40 kg body weight (12 years and older): Initial dose: Take 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen) with water. If necessary, take further doses of 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen), but do not exceed the total dose of 3 capsules (1200 mg ibuprofen) in a 24-hour period. The dosing interval must not be less than 6 hours.
• Use in children: This medicinal product is not intended for use in adolescents under 40 kg or children under 12 years of age.
• Route of administration: Oral use. Swallow the capsule whole with water. It is recommended that patients with a sensitive stomach take this medicine with food. If it is taken shortly after eating, the effect of the medicine may be delayed. If this is the case, do not take more of this medicine than recommended in this section or until the correct interval for re-taking has elapsed.
• Duration of use: This medicine is intended for short-term use only. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen.

Ingredients

• What Nurofen Rapid Mini contains: The active substance is ibuprofen: Ibuprofen. each soft capsule contains 400 mg ibuprofen.
• The other ingredients are: Filling: Macrogol (E1521), Potassium hydroxide (at least 85% purity) (E525), Purified water. Soft capsule shell: Sorbitol liquid (E420), partially dehydrated, Gelatine (E441), Ponceau 4R (E124). Printing colour: Opacode WB white NSP-78-180002 (consisting of titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520), SDA 35A alcohol (ethanol & ethyl acetate), isopropyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, purified water, macrogol/PEG MW400 (E1521) and ammonium hydroxide 28% (E527).
