Novalac Rice AR powder is a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet) for the dietary management of infants and young children who are intolerant to cow's milk protein with or without regurgitation.

Who is the formulation suitable for?

For infants with symptoms of allergy to cow's milk protein, with:

Skin changes - infants with atopic dermatitis, itchy rash (including eczema that does not heal), facial swelling and other signs,
Digestive problems - abdominal pain, vomiting, colic, diarrhoea, constipation,
other symptoms accompanying the allergy to cow's milk protein.

For infants with regurgitation and/or inconsistent stools; PAX® Complex:

Reduces the amount and frequency of spitting up.
Helps to normalise the stool (diarrhoea or constipation).
improves well-being, reduces crying, improves sleep and consequently contributes to a better quality of family life.

For babies who show symptoms of lactose intolerance:

Gases, cramps, flatulence, diarrhoea.

Novalac Rice AR contains all the nutrients necessary for proper growth and development of the child.

Novalac Rice AR is a purely plant-based formulation and can be used as the sole food up to 6 months of age. After 6 months of age, Novalac Rice AR can be used as part of a mixed diet.

Hydrolysed rice protein is hypoallergenic and therefore suitable for infants with an allergy to cow's milk protein. Novalac Rice AR is lactose-free and enriched with the innovative thickener PAX® Complex, which reduces the frequency and amount of regurgitation and helps to normalise the stool (diarrhoea or constipation).

Directions for use

Novalac Rice AR thickened formula contains ingredients with a special rehydration time and density. Shake well before use. Composition, appearance, odour and taste may differ from regular milk. Novalac Rice AR may contain naturally white fibre lumps or may cause hard and/or greenish stools without sequelae and without discomfort to infants and young children.

Method of preparation:

Wash hands thoroughly before each preparation.

Sterilise the baby bottle and cap with teat in boiling water and simmer for at least 5 minutes.
Bring the water for preparing the meal to the boil in a covered pan and simmer for at least 5 minutes.
Allow the water in the pan to cool to 40 °C and pour into the baby bottle.
Using the measuring spoon provided, pour the specified number of measuring spoons into the baby bottle.
Close the baby bottle and shake vigorously until the powder is completely dissolved.
Allow the prepared meal to cool to 37 °C (lukewarm) or check the temperature on the inside of your wrist until it feels neither warm nor cold.

Additional instructions for preparing the formulation: It is recommended to give the drinking bottle a vigorous swirl immediately after adding the powder and shake as required until the powder has completely dissolved. A larger drinking bottle is recommended so that the contents can be shaken well. Parents can also prepare one half first and then the second half as required: first add only half of the powder to the full amount of well-warmed water and then turn and shake the bottle, then add the other half and turn and shake the bottle again vigorously. Speed of preparation is very important, as is not waiting and not "letting the bottle stand". This prevents the formation of lumps and thickening.
