Omega-3 VEGAN EPA is the first algae oil with extra EPA

EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) is an essential omega-3 fatty acid that the body cannot produce itself and should therefore be supplied through food. EPA is an important building block for certain endogenous metabolic products, such as eicosanoids, which play a central role in various metabolic processes and can have an anti-inflammatory effect, among other things.

NORSAN Algae Oil is extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. This type of algae consists of microscopically small single-celled algae. It is particularly rich in the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA and feeds purely on organic and plant substances, such as dead leaves.

The production process for our vegetable algae oil is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The algae is cultivated in artificial seawater and then fermented in an aqueous environment. The crude oil is extracted using a centrifuge. This process is particularly gentle on the fatty acids.

NORSAN Algae Oil is produced in an oxygen-free processing environment so that our oil is optimally protected against oxidation. Oxidation causes an unpleasant odour and has a negative effect on the taste. The oxidation value (TOTOX value) - also known as the "freshness" value (the lower, the fresher) - is in the low range of 4 and thus emphasises the high freshness of the algae oil.

Due to the cultivation of the algae, the algae oil is also very low in pollutants. As the algae are not taken from the sea, they are particularly low in pollutants right from the start. Nevertheless, the algae oil is also carefully purified to remove potential impurities and pollutants. Production takes place separately from our other omega-3 products. The vitamin D used is also from a vegan source.

How to use

• The recommended daily dose is 5 ml, which corresponds to 1 teaspoon. One bottle contains 100 ml. With normal consumption, one bottle will last for approx. 20 days.
• The recommended daily intake must not be exceeded unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, therapist or pharmacist. The dosage can be easily measured using the enclosed dosage cup. Different consumption recommendations currently apply for pregnant and breastfeeding women; according to legal regulations, this is 450 mg EPA/DHA daily (or 1 ml per day).
