L-lysine is an essential, i.e. vital, amino acid and a component of various proteins in your body. Together with L-arginine and L-histidine, L-lysine is one of the basic amino acids and is a building block of collagen (= basic structure of our skin) and a precursor of L-carnitine. Your body cannot produce L-lysine itself, which is why it must be supplied through food. L-lysine is mainly found in animal foods. Combined with vitamin A and zinc to support healthy mucous membranes and skin as well as a strong immune system. L-lysine complex is ideal for covering increased requirements and targeted intake in vegan or vegetarian diets. It corresponds to the pure substance principle.
