Dosage form
Nasal rinsing salt sachets

How to use
  1. Heat 250 ml of pure, drinkable tap water to body temperature and dissolve one sachet of Nasaline nasal rinsing salt (approx. 2.5 g) in it. The water then has the same salt content as the human body (0.9 %) and is therefore referred to as physiological salt water. If you feel a slight stinging sensation in your nose, you have probably used too much or too little salt. To avoid an allergic reaction, Nasaline nasal rinsing salt is iodine-free.
  2. Draw the lukewarm salt water into the syringe by pulling up the syringe plunger.
  3. Stand or sit slightly bent over a sink, press the silicone top tightly against the nostril and slowly squirt the salt water into the nose. During the rinsing process, breathe calmly through your mouth and avoid swallowing. As soon as the salt water reaches the back of the nose, the palate normally closes reflexively. The salt water drains through the second nostril, removing excess mucus and foreign particles from the nose. One rinse takes between three and seven seconds. Then rinse the second nostril in the same way. You can blow out excess salt water. A small amount of salt water may still be in the nose and only run out after a few hours. This is not dangerous, but you can prevent it by bending your head forwards after rinsing and turning it from side to side.

Instructions
  • Dosage: Rinsing twice with a full syringe (60 ml) into each nostril is recommended in the morning and evening or as required.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Nasaline can be used both during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
  • Cleaning the syringe: Pull the plunger out of the syringe and clean both parts with warm water. Allow the parts to air dry. Nasaline tolerates hand washing-up liquid and hot water. However, this is not necessary for cleaning the syringe. If the plunger is stiff, the black membrane on the plunger can be lubricated with a drop of cooking oil.
  • Shelf life: If used regularly, the Nasaline nasal rinser can be used for approx. four months. After that, it should be disposed of for hygienic and functional reasons. The product may discolour slightly during this time, but this does not affect its function.
  • Caution: If you suffer from ear infections or other ear complaints, you should consult a doctor before using Nasaline. Do not rinse your nose if it is completely blocked or if you feel pressure in your ears.
