Application
Mepitel Film can also be used by non-professionals under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Clean the skin according to clinical standards.
- Dry the skin thoroughly.
- Remove the protective film (printed) and apply the adhesive side to the fragile skin (or to the primary dressing) and smooth Mepitel Film at the application site to ensure a good seal. Avoid overstretching during application.
- Remove the paper frame.
- To achieve the best possible results, Mepitel Film should overlap the dry, wound-surrounding skin by at least 1-2 cm for smaller wounds (up to 10×12 cm) and 5 cm for larger wounds to hold the dressing securely in place. If the edges of the product start to roll off, carefully cut the edges to extend the wearing time.
Mepitel Film should be changed if the dressing begins to peel, if it is damaged or according to clinical standards. Disposal should be in accordance with local environmental regulations.
