Protect sensitive skin with Mepilex® Lite. This thin, sterile foam dressing conforms perfectly and prevents maceration. Ideal for the treatment of epidermolysis bullosa and acute wounds.
Mepilex Lite is a highly flexible dressing that absorbs exudate,
maintains a moist wound environment and minimises the risk of maceration.
The dressing features a unique self-adhesive wound-contact layer –
Safetac® technology. It minimises pain for the patient as well as damage
to the wound and the surrounding skin when the dressing is removed.
Indications
Mepilex Lite is suitable for the treatment of a wide range of non-exuding or lightly exuding
wounds, including leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers,
superficial burns, radiation-induced skin damage and epidermolysis
bullosa. Mepilex Lite can also be used to protect vulnerable and/or
sensitive skin.

Use
Mepilex Lite can be used under the supervision of healthcare professionals or by laypeople.
- Clean the wound in accordance with clinical standards.
- Dry the skin surrounding the wound thoroughly.
- Select a suitable dressing size. The dressing should overlap the dry, skin surrounding the wound by at least 1–2 cm for smaller wounds (sizes up to 12.5×12.5 cm) and by 3–5 cm for larger wounds. If necessary, the dressing can be cut to suit the specific shape and location of the wound.
- Remove the first protective film and place the adhesive side onto the wound.
- Remove the remaining protective film and smooth the dressing down onto the skin. Do not stretch the dressing too much.
- If necessary, the dressing can be secured using a bandage or other fixation method.
The interval between dressing changes may be several days.
Change the dressing before it is completely saturated, if there are signs of
exudate, or in accordance with clinical practice.
Mepilex Lite can also be used under compression bandages and in combination with gels
.
Disposal should be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations.
Ingredients
Mepilex Lite consists of a soft silicone wound-contact layer (Safetac), a thin, flexible and absorbent polyurethane foam wound pad, and a breathable yet waterproof outer polyurethane film. Components of the dressing material: Silicone, polyurethane.
