Use

Mepilex Lite can be used under the supervision of healthcare professionals or by laypeople.

  1. Clean the wound in accordance with clinical standards.
  2. Dry the skin surrounding the wound thoroughly.
  3. Select a suitable dressing size. The dressing should overlap the dry, skin surrounding the wound by at least 1–2 cm for smaller wounds (sizes up to 12.5×12.5 cm) and by 3–5 cm for larger wounds. If necessary, the dressing can be cut to suit the specific shape and location of the wound.
  4. Remove the first protective film and place the adhesive side onto the wound.
  5. Remove the remaining protective film and smooth the dressing down onto the skin. Do not stretch the dressing too much.
  6. If necessary, the dressing can be secured using a bandage or other fixation method.

The interval between dressing changes may be several days. Change the dressing before it is completely saturated, if there are signs of exudate, or in accordance with clinical practice. Mepilex Lite can also be used under compression bandages and in combination with gels . Disposal should be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations.
