The Metalline® dressing cloth from Lohmann & Rauscher is coated with aluminium and is used to absorb exudate, reduce wound adhesion and cover wounds.
Thermal injuries and extensive wounds — particularly when treated as open wounds — require functionally appropriate materials to ensure the correct positioning and gentle care of the patient. The large-size Metalline variants provide therapeutic aids that can be effectively adapted to a wide range of treatment measures — from first aid through to the care of patients who are bedridden for extended periods or permanently.
Metalline’s particular suitability within this range of indications stems primarily from the characteristics of the dressing material, such as a smooth and porous surface that is soft and pliable, enabling atraumatic dressing changes.
The metallised non-woven fabric absorbs blood and wound exudate, which are drained away through the porous Metalline layer.
