Product information "Mepore® Film & Pad film dressing 15 x 9 cm"
Mepore® Film & Pad is an absorbent, self-adhesive film dressing intended for the treatment of low to moderately exuding wounds, such as surgical wounds, cuts and grazes.
Mepore Film & Pad is a sterile, transparent, self-adhesive, absorbent and shower-resistant film dressing with a bacterial barrier function.
Mepore Film & Pad consists of:
- an absorbent wound pad with an integrated, non-adherent wound-contact layer.
- a shower-resistant, transparent polyurethane film, coated with a solvent-based polyacrylic adhesive. The adhesive area is covered with a printed protective film.
- an application frame and a tab made of silicone paper.
Indications
Mepore Film & Pad is intended for the treatment of low to moderately exuding wounds such as surgical wounds, cuts and grazes.
Dosage form
- Film dressing
- Size: 15 x 9 cm
- Wound pad size: 10 x 4.5 cm
Usage
Mepore Film & Pad can be used by laypeople under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Clean the wound in accordance with clinical standards. Dry the skin surrounding the wound thoroughly. Do not apply moisturiser to the skin covered by the dressing to ensure proper adhesion.
- Remove the printed protective film and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Ensure that the absorbent wound pad covers the wound.
- Remove the paper backing and peel off the two white strips. Gently press down the edges to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
- When removing, grasp the edge and carefully peel the film off along the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Notes: Ensure that Mepore Film & Pad is not applied under tension to prevent shear forces that could damage the skin. When applying to joints, ensure that the joint’s mobility is not restricted. Significant swelling may occur following some surgical procedures. In such cases, it may be better to use a more elastic dressing to avoid placing the skin under tension.
