- a transparent outer film that is breathable yet waterproof and provides a barrier against external contamination
- a flexible absorbent pad consisting of two layers a non-woven distribution layer and a layer of highly absorbent fibres
- a wound contact layer made of self-adhesive soft silicone (Safetac) and a carrier film

- Size: 10 x 15 cm
- Wound dressing size: 4.5 x 10 cm
Application
- Clean the wound and surrounding skin according to clinical practice.
- Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- The Mepilex Border Post-Op Wound Pad should overlap the wound by at least 1 to 2 cm to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and to ensure secure fixation.
- For dressings with three protective films, first remove the centre protective film. Apply the adhesive side to the wound to enable initial fixation of the dressing. For dressings with two protective films, first remove the overlapping part of the protective film on the self-adhesive surface to allow initial fixation of the dressing.
- Avoid creasing by carefully removing the remaining protective film. Start with the longer end. Avoid any overstretching during application.
