Product information "Mepilex® Border Heel foam bandage 22 x 23 cm"
Mepilex® Border Heel foam dressing was developed to support prophylactic therapies for the prevention of skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers, and to reduce post-operative tension blisters.
Mepilex® Border Heel is a self-adhesive, absorbent dressing to support prophylactic therapies for the prevention of pressure ulcers and to reduce the risk of maceration. It maintains a moist wound environment for wound treatment. The waterproof outer layer protects against dirt and bacteria. The dressing has a unique self-adhesive wound contact layer - Safetac® technology. The wound contact layer minimises pain for the patient and trauma to the wound and skin when the dressing is removed.
Mepilex® Border Heel consists of:
- a wound contact layer made of self-adhesive soft silicone (Safetac) and a carrier film,
- a flexible absorption pad consisting of three layers: a foam, a non-woven distribution layer and a layer of highly absorbent fibres,
- a breathable and waterproof outer film that provides a barrier against external contamination.
Areas of application
- Mepilex Border Heel has been developed to support prophylactic therapies for the prevention of skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers, and to reduce post-operative tension blisters.
- Mepilex Border Heel is also suitable for the treatment of a wide range of exuding wounds including leg, foot or pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds such as skin tears and surgical wounds. Mepilex Border is also suitable for dry/necrotic wounds in combination with gels.
