- The 360° Flex technology ensures maximum conformability and a dressing that is more flexible than comparable foam dressings with adhesive edges2,17. The innovative 360° Flex technology offers excellent flexibility in all directions, which reduces stress on the skin, increases comfort and prevents premature detachment.1,2
- The unique 4-layer foam dressing ensures that exudate is effectively absorbed, quickly transferred and allows the exudate to be documented without disturbing the wound rest.3,16 The special construction of Mepilex Border Flex Lite offers the optimum balance of exudate absorption and evaporation for non- to moderately exuding wounds.16,18-21
- It has been clinically proven in numerous randomised studies that dressings with Safetac® cause less wound and skin damage during dressing changes.6-11,13,22 The sealing of the wound edges prevents maceration.6,11 Due to less wound and skin damage, pain during dressing changes is also minimised.6-12 Therefore, several randomised studies associate dressings with Safetac with faster wound healing7-9,12 and lower overall treatment costs.7,11,12
- Mepilex Border Flex Lite is intended for the treatment of a wide range of low to moderately exuding wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, pressure sores, surgical wounds and traumatic wounds such as abrasions, blisters and skin tears. Mepilex Border Flex Lite can also be used to protect vulnerable and/or sensitive skin.
- Note: If you notice signs of clinical infection, e.g. fever, or if the wound or surrounding skin becomes red, warm or swollen, consult a doctor for appropriate treatment.
Dosage form
- Self-adhesive foam dressing
- Size: 10 x 10 cm
- Wound dressing size: 6.5 x 6.5 cm
Application
- Choose a suitable dressing shape and size. If necessary, choose a dressing shape optimised for the specific anatomical area. For use on wounds: The wound pad should cover at least 1 to 2 cm of the dry surrounding skin to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and to ensure secure fixation of the dressing. When used for prevention: Ensure that the wound pad completely covers the area at risk of pressure-induced injury or tissue damage.
- For use on wounds: Clean the wound according to clinical standards. Dry the skin surrounding the wound thoroughly.
- Remove the first protective film and place the adhesive side on the wound.
- Remove the remaining protective film and smooth the adhesive edge onto the skin. Do not overstretch the dressing. Mepilex® Border Flex Lite can remain on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the condition of the wound and surrounding skin and clinical practice.
- Mepilex® Border Flex Lite can also be used under compression.
- As Mepilex Border Flex maintains a moist wound environment to aid debridement, the wound may initially become larger. This is normal and should be expected.
- Changing to a different type of dressing may result in an initial increase in the amount of exudate, requiring more frequent dressing changes.
- When used for prevention: The area at risk of pressure ulcers or tissue damage should be checked regularly in accordance with clinical practice.
