- Mepilex Border Ag is suitable for use in moderately to heavily exuding wounds, such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, tumour wounds, 2nd degree burns, traumatic and surgical wounds, where maintenance of a moist wound environment, drainage of exudate, gentle fixation and effective antimicrobial action are required.
- Mepilex Border Ag can be used on infected wounds as part of a holistic treatment approach under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
- Mepilex Border Ag can be used under compression.
Dosage form
- Foam dressing
- Size: 15 x 20 cm
- Wound pad size: 11 x 16 cm
Application
- Clean the wound with saline solution or water in accordance with medical standards.
- Dry the skin surrounding the wound thoroughly.
- Remove the protective film and apply the dressing with the adhesive side to the wound. Do not overstretch the dressing.
- To achieve the best possible results, Mepilex Border Ag should overlap the wound edges by at least 2 cm.
- Mepilex Border Ag may remain on the wound for up to seven days or as long as indicated by normal clinical practice, depending on the patient and the wound situation and surrounding skin.
- Initially, more frequent dressing changes may be necessary, as the amount of exudate may increase at the beginning due to a change in treatment.
