Due to the increased glycogen requirement, intensive endurance exercise requires a form of nutrition known as carbohydrate loading or carboloading (glycogen supercompensation). The aim of this nutritional technique is to increase the storage capacity of glycogen in the muscles and liver above the normal level. For this purpose, the training load is reduced approx. 3 days before the competition and at the same time a carbohydrate-rich diet (approx. 75% carbohydrate content) is switched to.

MELASAN® Numalt 3500 is an innovative carbohydrate supplement with a very low dextrose equivalent and low glycaemic index and is therefore ideal for glycogen supercompensation. Numalt 3500 is also suitable for adding to smoothies, soups, puddings or similar dishes.
