How to use
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. If necessary, you can cleanthe skin area where the blood sample is taken with an alcohol pad.
- Open the lancing device by turning the protective cap clockwise and removing it. Insert the lancet into the lancing device as far as it will go (without turning it).
- Carefully twist the protective sleeve off the lancet.
- Replace the protective cap on the lancing device and turn it anti-clockwise to tighten. When using the AST cap , refer to the instructions for use.
- The lancing device can be individually adjusted to the sensitivity of your skin. Its adjustable tip can be set to 5 different insertion depths. Turn the end of the cap in the appropriate direction until the arrow points to the digit with the desired insertion depth. Find the right penetration depth for you: G - 1 - 2 for soft or thin skin G - 3 for normal skin G - 4 - 5 for thick or calloused skin
- Tension the lancing device by pulling it apart until it engages with a "click". If it does not click into place, it was probably already tightened when the lancet was inserted. The lancing device is ready. Do not prick your finger before the meter and test strip have been prepared.
- Once the device and test strip have been prepared and the skin area has been cleaned, place the lancing device on a fingertip (preferably on the side) and press the release button. Obtain a drop of blood by gently massaging the area. Make sure that the drop of blood does not smear. Carry out the test as described in the instructions.
