Mag. Pfeiffer's® Coenzyme Q10 50mg Capsules, 60 ST

Product information "Mag. Pfeiffer's® Coenzyme Q10 50mg Capsules"
Coenzyme Q10 is often used to support heart health and maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. It is also frequently found in anti-ageing products.

Anti-ageing products are usually very expensive. It’s easy to end up spending a three-figure sum per month on them.
Mag. Pfeiffer’s® Coenzyme Q10 is a purely plant-based product that helps to renew the skin, protects the heart and boosts energy and performance – and it is scientifically proven to do so without any side effects.

Coenzyme Q10 – Ubiquinone

  • Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone) is a substance produced naturally by the body and is classified as a vitaminoid. As the name suggests, ubiquinone is ubiquitous, meaning it is found everywhere.
  • Foods rich in ubiquinone include meat, eggs and fish, but above all cold-pressed vegetable oils such as olive oil and wheat germ oil. As with other vitaminoids, animal-based foods contain high levels, whilst the content in plant-based products is generally considered to be rather low.
  • The human body is capable of synthesising coenzyme Q10 itself. However, this ability gradually declines with age (from the age of 40 onwards).
  • The highest concentrations of coenzyme Q10 in the human body are found in the heart, liver and kidneys. Coenzyme Q10 plays a key role in the mitochondria of cells in the production of cellular energy (ATP).

Coenzyme Q10 acts as an electron carrier in this process.

  • Adequate coenzyme Q10 levels are essential for the physiological supply of ATP to muscle cells and organs, as well as for cardiac function. A deficiency in coenzyme Q10 impairs energy metabolism and increases oxidative stress on the mitochondria. It is now believed that free oxygen radicals, which are produced during ATP production in the respiratory chain, contribute to the cellular ageing process due to their damaging effect on mitochondrial DNA.
  • In a similar way to vitamin C, coenzyme Q10 regenerates ‘used-up’, membrane-bound vitamin E (redox recycling) and acts as a fat-soluble antioxidant. In addition to its key role in cellular energy metabolism and theantioxidant defence system, coenzyme Q10 also strengthens the immune system.
