Vital substances for a balanced basic supply
Humans need food, water and air to survive. But why is that so? What we ingest and inhale is used in the body to build up the body's own material and to provide energy: Oxygen, for example, together with carbohydrates and fats, is necessary for energy production, water is needed by the body as a means of transport and as a solvent, proteins are converted into muscle mass and omega-3 fatty acids are needed by the body to build cell walls (cell membranes). The importance of an adequate supply of omega 3 should not be underestimated. Unsaturated fatty acids are essential building material for cell membranes. They keep our cells supple and elastic. EPA and DHA are two particularly high-quality unsaturated fatty acids. Fish oil and algae oil are important sources of EPA and DHA. Neither is found in vegetable oils. Normally, the body can only produce a very small amount of EPA and DHA from vegetable fatty acids. It needs the enzyme D-6-D (delta-6-desaturase) for this.

How to use
