MASTER-AID® STERIGRAP® wound closure strips offer reliable protection and support during wound healing. Made from high-quality materials, they are gentle on the skin and promote rapid recovery.
Sticking wounds together instead of stitching them with STERIGRAP®
Wound closure strips – also commonly known as ‘staple plasters’ – are an excellent and, above all, pain-free alternative to traditional surgical sutures for small, shallow and uncomplicated wounds. They are ideal for use on simple cuts, reliably closing the wound edges and minimising scarring. As the smooth edges of cuts are held together by the staple plasters and the wound does not keep reopening even when moving, the healing process is supported as effectively as possible.
Better hold thanks to their special shape
STERIGRAP® consists of sterile wound closure strips made from a non-elastic polyester backing material. They stand out thanks to their unique bone-shaped design, which minimises direct contact between the strips and the wound whilst allowing a clear view of the wound. The enlarged adhesive areas at the edge of the clip plaster ensure the necessary hold and thus a secure wound closure. Reliable adhesion is further enhanced by the rounded corners. Thanks to the skin-friendly and hypoallergenic hot-melt adhesive, STERIGRAP® wound closure strips are ideally suited for sensitive, irritated and allergic skin.
Advantages of wound closure strips compared to traditional sutures:
- Easy to use, even without specialist staff
- Minimal scarring
- Minimal discomfort during wound care
- No need to remove stitches once the wound has healed
- Lower risk of infection
- Sterile
- Latex-free
A particular advantage of this method of wound closure is the reduced risk of wound infection, which can arise from the suture channels created during suturing. As well as providing suture-free and virtually painless wound closure, STERIGRAP® is also suitable for relieving pressure on sutures. Here, the wound closure strips help to prevent sudden wound dehiscence during the healing phase. Furthermore, the strips are ideal for stabilising fresh scars.
Indications
- For bringing together wound edges in the case of cuts, lacerations and small lacerations on the head

Form
Bone-shaped wound closure strips
Directions for use
- Once the bleeding has stopped, clean the skin with a wound disinfectant.
- Remove a wound closure strip from the silicone paper.
- Begin closing the wound in the centre. To do this, place half of the strip onto the skin and press firmly.
- Gently push the edges of the wound together, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Press the second half of the wound strip firmly into place.
- Now seal the rest of the wound with further strips. The strips should be placed parallel to one another.
- If necessary, provide additional protection for the wound with a sterile plaster or dressing.
