Laxbene® suppositories, 10 ST

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are a laxative. The active ingredient, bisacodyl, stimulates bowel movements upon contactwith the lining of the large intestine. In the stomach and small intestine, Laxbene ratiopharm – suppositories haveno effect when used correctly.

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are used :

• for the temporary relief of sluggish bowel function and constipation
• to prepare for operations and examinations
• for conditions requiring relief from difficulty passing stools

For short-term use in cases of constipation

Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age:

• 1 suppository (10 mg) for immediate relief

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are used once a day as required. Suppositories usually takeeffect within 20 minutes (between 10 and 30 minutes).

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are not suitable for children under 10 yearsof age , as the recommended dose of 5 mg bisacodyl for children aged 2 to 10 years would be exceeded by the use of one suppository.

In preparation for operations and examinations

Complete bowel evacuation must always be carried out under medical supervision. The treating doctor will determine the necessary laxatives, taking into account the specific circumstances of each individual case.

To ensure complete bowel emptying, you shoulduse both Laxbene ratiopharm film-coated tablets and Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories as directed by your doctor.

Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age:

• On the morning and evening of the day before the examination, take 2 Laxbene ratiopharm film-coated tablets (10 mg) each time, and on the morning of the examination, take 1 Laxbene ratiopharm suppository (10 mg).

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: 10 mg bisacodyl

1 suppository contains 10 mg of bisacodyl.

The other ingredients are: cellulose powder, hard fat (Witepsol H 15 and W 35).
