Lansinoh® nipple shields can be an effective aid for short-term use to bridge latch-on difficulties. This can occur, for example, with flat nipples, inverted nipples or inverted nipples, with a strong milk let-down reflex or shortened tongue and/or lip frenulum in the baby. Breastfeeding shields can also help premature babies, sick newborns or newborns who have difficulty drinking from the breast. The shape of the Lansinoh® nipple shields helps to maximise skin contact between mother and baby. The specially developed tip of the Lansinoh® nipple shield helps the baby to grasp the nipple shield particularly well with its lips. The Lansinoh® nipple shields are available in two sizes - size 1 (20 mm) and size 2 (24 mm) including a practical transport box for hygienic storage.
Please note: The causes of breastfeeding problems should be assessed by a breastfeeding counsellor in the early stages. Breastfeeding shields should only be used after recommendation and under the guidance of a midwife or breastfeeding counsellor.
