The NaturalWave® teat from Lansinoh has been specially developed for breastfed babies. Thanks to the extra soft and flexible silicone, it adapts to the palate and allows the baby to maintain its natural sucking behaviour.
This makes it easy to switch from breast to bottle and back to breast. If you want to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding, the NaturalWave® teat is the natural answer. The wide teat base with non-stick texture makes it easy to latch on and ensures a secure mouth seal. The gentle tilt of the NaturalWave® teat allows the baby to cup the teat with the lips turned up. An integrated anti-colic valve reduces air swallowing - a potential cause of colic * RAMS, "Clinical research of Pigeon Peristaltic PLUS™", Moscow, 2013 & Woolridge et al, "How Breast-Fed Babies Bottle Feed", Leeds, 2011
NaturalWave® preserves the natural sucking behaviour
The NaturalWave® teat supports the natural, undulating tongue movement and preserves the natural sucking behaviour learned during breastfeeding. This makes switching from breast to bottle and back to breast very easy. Reduced sucking confusion has been clinically confirmed* Further information can also be found in the Leeds Ultrasound Imaging Study (LUIS-2).
In a clinical study, 33 newborns aged between one and ten weeks who were not breastfed directly at the breast for a certain period of time were observed over a period of two weeks. The aim of the study was to find out whether they could switch back to breastfeeding after being fed with the NaturalWave® teat.
At the beginning of the study, before using the NaturalWave® teat, 30% of the babies refused to feed at the breast and only 42% took in more than half of their required amount of breast milk via breastfeeding. However, after two weeks of using the NaturalWave® teat, none of the babies refused to breastfeed and 79% drank more than half the amount of breastmilk they needed while breastfeeding. - Soft, stretchy teat tip: The long, round tip of the teat means it sits exactly in the baby's mouth. The tip is soft, exceptionally stretchy and can be optimally squeezed. This allows your baby to control the milk flow independently. The teat tip is reinforced on the inside for more stability so that it does not buckle when sucking.
- Anti-colic valve: The teat's AVS™ valve reduces the swallowing of air - a possible cause of colic.
- Teat sizes (hole sizes): The NaturalWave® teat is available in three hole sizes: size S for slow milk flow, M for medium milk flow and L for fast milk flow. With all hole sizes, the child can regulate the milk flow independently.
- Baby bottle with NaturalWave® teat from Lansinoh: The baby bottles with NaturalWave® teat are available in two sizes: 160 ml and 240 ml. The bottle is easy to hold thanks to its ergonomic shape. Thanks to the generous opening, it is easy to fill and clean. It is available as a glass bottle (heat and temperature shock resistant premium glass) or plastic bottle (polypropylene). The small baby bottle (160 ml) is equipped with a NaturalWave® teat in size S, the large baby bottle (240 ml) contains a teat in size M.
