The Latch Assist™ from Lansinoh is a practical breastfeeding aid that gently stimulates flat or retracted nipples.

The Lansinoh® Latch Assist™ nipple former gently pulls the nipple out and brings it into the correct shape at the moment of latching on. This optimises milk flow and reduces nipple soreness. Especially in the first few days after giving birth, many mothers experience a sudden, very strong swelling of the breast as a result of the milk coming in. This temporary condition can make breastfeeding very difficult for a short time. In an acute state, the skin can become so tight that the nipple is almost flat.

It is very difficult for the baby to find the flat or inverted nipple. If not enough breast is captured, the milk flow cannot be optimised. There is also a high risk of sore nipples for the mother. At the moment of latching on, solve the problem by using the nipple former to gently but clearly pull the nipple out so that the baby has a point of reference and can grasp the nipple and areola more easily. Tips for using the Latch Assist™ nipple former

• Squeeze the ball of the Latch Assist™ nipple former and gently place the funnel over the nipple and on the areola. Ensure an airtight seal. Now slowly release the pressure on the ball. This will create a vacuum on the nipple and gently pull it out. Repeat the process with the nipple former until the nipple has protruded and is large enough to be grasped by the baby.
