LAVASORB® wound irrigation solution is a ready-to-use solution suitable for irrigating wounds and moistening wound dressings, as well as for cleaning and rinsing wounds.
Lavasorb is a ready-to-use solution for cleaning, rinsing, moistening and decontaminating skin wounds. It is also intended for moistening wound dressings. In the operating theatre, Lavasorb is also used for cleaning and rinsing.
Lavasorb contains polyhexanide as a preservative, which also has an antimicrobial effect. Macrogol (polyethylene glycol 4000) serves to optimise the moistening of the wound surface by reducing surface tension. Polyhexanide prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi in the solution after the container has been first opened, as well as within the wound dressing.
