LAVANID® 2 is a sterile, isotonic wound irrigation solution based on Ringer's solution with 0.04% polyhexanide for preservation. It is suitable for the effective cleansing and decontamination of acute and chronic wounds of all types.
The first choice for chronic wounds thanks to the addition of polyhexanide as a preservative
LAVANID® 2 are sterile and iso-osmotic wound irrigation solutions based on the Ringer's solution with 0.04 % polyhexanide as a preservative. Polyhexanide (PHMB) prevents the growth of microorganisms in wound dressings and in the solution. Furthermore, the surface tension of the solution is reduced so that it can reach the tissue better and more effectively. This surfactant-like effect supports the effective cleansing of the wound.
LAVANID® 2 wound irrigation solutions are also isotonic. The use of an isotonic solution prevents swelling of the skin and irritation of the wound area, as there is no exchange of fluids or electrolytes with the body's own secretions. This is one of the reasons why LAVANID® 2 is well suited for wound care and very well tolerated, as described in the literature¹.

Application
- A wound should first be cleaned of dirt, blood and coatings with wound irrigation solution each time the dressing is changed. For this purpose, the affected areas are rinsed with LAVANID® 2 - Wound Irrigation Solution. The solution can be applied by unscrewing the bottle and pouring out the solution. Alternatively, aseptic removal is possible via the stopper cap using a spike. A spike is not included in the scope of delivery.
- LAVANID® 2 - Wound Irrigation Solution is colourless and therefore allows unrestricted assessment of the wound condition, making wound care easier. The painless application ensures high patient acceptance.
