Directions for use
- Inspect the wound and clean it if necessary in accordance with local guidelines. Remove the product from its packaging and cut it to the required size to ensure that the dressing extends beyond the edges of the wound. Peel off both plastic films from the dressing and apply the dressing to the wound. Cover and secure the dressing with a suitable secondary dressing, depending on the amount of wound exudate.
- Frequency of dressing changes: Depending on the condition of the wound and the amount of exudate, the product may remain on the wound for up to 7 days. Replace the product as soon as the gel has been used up. If necessary, the product may remain in place whilst the secondary dressing is being changed. If the product has become too dry, gentle and complete removal of the product may be facilitated by rinsing.
- Precautions and warnings: Do not use if the primary packaging is damaged or contaminated, or if the expiry date has passed. Due to autolytic debridement, the wound may initially appear larger after the first few dressing changes. This is a natural process resulting from the breakdown of devitalised tissue, which prepares the wound bed for healing. If the wound swells, becomes red or painful, or does not begin to heal within a few days, remove the dressing using appropriate methods, clean the entire area thoroughly and consult a doctor. Examine the wound and the surrounding tissue at regular intervals in accordance with local guidelines. If you experience an adverse reaction to the dressing or any of its components, remove it using appropriate methods and clean the entire area thoroughly.
