The L-Mesitran® Border hydroactive antibacterial wound dressing with an adhesive border provides reliable protection for the wound. It absorbs exudate and stays in place without the need for additional fastening.
L-Mesitran Border is a hydroactive, honey-containing wound dressing with low adhesion for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. L-Mesitran Border is identical, but has an adhesive border. Both sterile, semi-permeable wound dressings contain 30% honey and a polymer gel, and are coated with a polyurethane film – one without an adhesive border and one with. The dressing moisturises dry tissue and absorbs large amounts of exudate to create a moist environment that promotes healing. Thanks to its coating, the dressing also offers protection against bacteria.

Directions for use
- Select a dressing of the appropriate size and ensure that the gel pad extends approximately 1 cm beyond the edges of the wound.
- Remove the sterile dressing from the packaging.
- First, peel off half of the plastic protective cover.
- Carefully place the gel-coated side onto the wound and remove the second half of the plastic protective cover.
- Remove the paper covers from the top of the dressing. Ensure that the adhesive on the L-Mesitran Border does not come into contact with the wound surface and that it adheres firmly so that it completely covers the wound.
- Use a suitable fastening material or a second dressing to ensure that the L-Mesitran Hydro lies securely on the wound.
- Frequency of dressing changes: Depending on the condition of the wound and the amount of exudate, the product may remain on the wound for up to 7 days. If the product has become too dry, gentle and complete removal may be facilitated by rinsing
- Precautions and warnings: Do not use if the primary packaging is damaged or contaminated, or if the expiry date has passed. Due to autolytic debridement, the wound may initially appear larger after the first few dressing changes. This is a natural process resulting from the breakdown of devitalised tissue, which prepares the wound bed for healing. If the wound swells, becomes red or painful, or does not begin to heal within a few days, consult a doctor. Examine the wound and the surrounding tissue at regular intervals in accordance with local guidelines. If you experience hypersensitivity to the dressing or its components, remove it using appropriate methods and clean the entire area thoroughly.
