Klean Labs Folic Acid 400 capsules are a dietary supplement containing 400 µg (680 DFE) of folic acid (vitamin B9) per capsule. The product is vegan and GMO-free.
Folic acid belongs to the B-vitamin group and is a heat-sensitive, water-soluble vitamin.
Foods rich in folic acid, such as wholegrains, pulses and green leafy vegetables, therefore quickly lose this vitamin during preparation and storage.
Folic acid is involved in a number of metabolic processes, such as cell division and blood formation. During pregnancy, the need for folic acid may be increased, as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissue.
