What is immunosenescence?
Immunosenescence is the age-related decline in immunological competence . This includes both the capacity of the immune system to react to infections and the development of long-term immunological memory, especially in the case of vaccinations . Immunosenescence is considered to be the most important factor in increased morbidity and mortality in old age. Together with the age-related regression of the thymus , this means that the body has hardly any native T cells available from which specific antibodies can be produced. As a result, people are significantly more susceptible to a variety of infections and non-infectious diseasesin old age .
Is an adequate supply of selenium important for the function of the immune system?
Selenium is an essential trace element and helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Its diverse biological effects are based on its incorporation into selenium proteins . The large number of selenium proteins in the human body plays a decisive role in the reduction of oxidative stress, among other things . Selenium is also important for initiating the body' s immunity , but also for regulating the immune response. An adequate supply of selenium ensures both innate and adaptive immune defence. The immune system therefore requires selenium for normal function. A selenium deficiency can lead toa weaker immune response.

Directions
Swallow 1 capsule per day approx. 1 hour before a meal with a little liquid. If you have difficulty swallowing, open the capsule and take the contents with a little liquid.
