KELO-COTE® Scar Gel UV with sun protection factor 30 has been specially developed to protect scars from the unfavourable effects of the sun. The sun protection ensures that the scar is protected from UV radiation and thus prevents dark pigmentation.
UV rays can have a negative impact on the wound healing process and the sensitive scar tissue. Hyperpigmentation and sun-induced redness can be the result. For this reason, fresh scars should be protected from the sun and UV rays.
KELO-COTE® UV is ideal for the face, neck, hands, upper body and other areas of skin that are exposed to the sun.
KELO-COTE® Scar Gel is effective for
- Fresh scars
- Surgical scars
- Caesarean section
- Aesthetic surgery
- Burn scars
Scar tissue is many times more sensitive than intact skin. UV rays can cause sun-induced redness and brownish discolouration (hyperpigmentation), making the scar stand out more clearly from the surrounding tissue. Exposure to radiation also increases the risk of infection, not only from the sun, but also from solariums, infrared lamps, etc. To prevent hyperpigmentation, KELO-COTE UV with SPF 30 was specially developed to protect scars from the sun.
This application is particularly recommended for sun-exposed areas of skin, not only for sun rays, but also for solariums, infrared lamps, etc. To prevent hyperpigmentation, KELO-COTE UV with SPF 30 has been specially developed as sun protection for scars. This application is particularly recommended for areas of skin exposed to the sun.

How to use
- Ensure that the area of skin to be treated is clean and dry.
- Apply a very thin layer of Kelo-cote® UV to the affected skin area and allow the gel to dry.
- Apply Kelo-cote® UV twice a day.
- Kelo-cote® UV gel should remain on the skin for 24 hours to achieve maximum effect.
- After drying, cosmetics or sun protection can be applied to the Kelo-cote® UV film.
- Instructions for use: If Kelo-cote® UV has not dried within 4-5 minutes, you have probably used too much gel. Carefully remove the excess gel and then allow the skin area to dry. The recommended duration of treatment is at least 60-90 days. For very large and older scars, a longer application may be necessary if no improvement is seen after the first 90 days.
- Notes: Direct contact with the eyes, mucous membranes. Avoid 3rd degree burns and open wounds. The gel may only be applied to undamaged skin. It may leave stains on clothing if it is not completely dry. For external use only. If skin irritation occurs, discontinue therapy and consult your doctor. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 25°C. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the tube.
