The discovery of antibiotics was a revolution that enabled the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases and infections in human and veterinary medicine! However, for several decades now there has been a worldwide emergency situation due to antibiotic resistance (AMR). AMR is an adaptation phenomenon of certain microorganisms whereby they acquire the ability to survive and multiply in the presence of an antibacterial agent (although they are normally inhibited or killed by this agent).

Peptivet® 4 otological solution was developed precisely for this purpose: to combat antibiotic resistance in a targeted and successful manner.
Active ingredients
Peptivet® 4 utilises the synergistic effect of four molecules:
- Chlorhexidine digluconate, an antiseptic that interferes with microbial metabolism.
- The synthetic peptide ARTA0002 in free form (developed and patented by ICF}, which interacts electrostatically with the bacterial membrane of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli, S. aureus, Candida albicans and Malassezia.
- The synthetic peptide AMP2041 in free form (developed and patented by ICF), interacts synergistically with chlorhexidine, even at low concentrations, and shows specific efficacy against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms as well as Candida albicans and Malassezia pachydermatis.
- Cyclodextrin, a naturally occurring oligosaccharide with a cylindrical structure, is able to contain molecules that can not only be transported but also protected and gradually released. In Peptivel® 4 it is bound with ARTA0002 or AMP2041.

How to use
Peptivet 4 is a skin-friendly otological solution to support the reduction of bacterial and Malassezia growth in ear infections in dogs and cats.
When should it be used?
- As a first measure for bacterial and/or Malassezia-related ear infections
- For dogs and cats with a tendency to relapse
Instructions for use:
- Shake before use.
- Instil Peptivet 4 into the ear canal twice a day as required or as directed by the vet.
- Gently massage into the lower part of the external auditory canal to ensure optimal distribution of the solution in the ear canal and to promote its effect.
- Regular use of the solution helps to prolong the period between possible relapses.
