IALURIL® Prefill prefilled syringe 50 ml, 1 ST

IALURIL® Prefill is indicated for the restoration of the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layers of the vesical urothelium in cases where the loss of these can cause frequent and recurrent symptoms (such as cystitis, etc.).

The urothelium is lined with a layer of polyanionic molecules composed mainly of glycosaminoglycans (GAG), a class of amino sugars that form an impenetrable and neutralising protective barrier against toxic and irritating substances present in the urine (such as bacteria, microcrystals, proteins, ionic and non-ionic residues, etc.) and prevent their systemic reabsorption.

Of the GAGs that form this protective barrier, chondroitin sulphate and hyaluronic acid play a central role in the function of the barrier itself.

Qualitative and quantitative variations of these two GAGs at different levels inactivate the barrier effect and thus cause a number of conditions that can favour the occurrence of cystitis of different nature (e.g. interstitial cystitis, recurrent cystitis caused by infections, cystitis caused by substances for cancer treatment, cystitis caused by radiation, traumatic cystitis).

IALURIL® Prefill, a balanced compound of sodium hyaluronate, chondroitin sulphate and calcium chloride, can be functionally integrated into the barrier thanks to the action of calcium chloride, thus restoring its protective function.

Fields of application

IALURIL® Prefill is indicated for the restoration of the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layers of the vesical urothelium in cases where their loss can cause frequent and recurrent discomfort (such as cystitis of various etiologies).

IALURIL® Prefill is also indicated in cases where the loss of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layers is associated with forms of chronic inflammation in which the composition and integrity of these layers appear to be compromised.

Dosage form

Prefilled syringe á 50 ml

Application

It is recommended to instil the contents of a pre-filled syringe according to the following schedule:

• 1 instillation per week during the first month.
• 1 instillation every fortnight during the second month.
• In the following months, 1 instillation per month is recommended until stable relief of symptoms.

Notes: The application may only be carried out by qualified doctors.
