HydroClean® Mini is a wound dressing pre-moistened with Ringer’s solution to promote wound healing in a moist environment. Ideal for chronic wounds, burns and post-operative wounds.
HydroClean® Mini is a wound dressing specifically designed for small and deep wounds, such as those commonly seen in venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. HydroClean Mini releases Ringer’s solution to the wound for up to three days when covered with a HydroClean wound pad or secured with a film dressing. As the wound dressing simultaneously absorbs wound exudate, an interactive and continuous wound irrigation process begins.
HydroClean® is a hydroactive wound dressing whose central component is a superabsorbent polyacrylate (SAP) embedded in cellulose and pulp fibres, which is activated (moistened) with Ringer’s solution. The wound-contact layer consists of a knitted fabric made of polypropylene, onto which silicone strips have been applied . The wound-contact layer and the silicone strips prevent the dressing from sticking to the wound. On the side facing away from the wound, a water-impermeable polypropylene film, together with a coating of hydrophobic polypropylene non-woven fabric, prevents the wound pad from drying out prematurely, allowing moisture to be released to the wound for up to three days. At the same time, the film largely prevents moisture from penetrating the dressing.
Properties and mode of action
HydroClean® Mini releases Ringer’s solution to the wound for up to three days. As the
wound dressing simultaneously absorbs wound exudate, an interactive and
continuous wound irrigation process begins. The SAP used in HydroClean inactivates
matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) that interfere with wound healing.
Indications
HydroClean® Mini is indicated for the moist wound therapy of dry, slightly and moderately exuding
wounds, particularly those with impaired healing potential. The
product is particularly suitable for the treatment of chronic and hard-to-heal
wounds during the cleansing and granulation phases.

Use
The packaging and the dressing should be checked for damage. If any damage is found, HydroClean should not be used. Before opening, carefully check the product packaging for damage. In particular, the integrity of the packaging surfaces and the entire sealing areas must be checked thoroughly under suitable lighting conditions (white light or daylight). Do not use the product if there are visible signs of damage, e.g. tears, tunnels, puncture holes or uneven, detached, torn or incomplete seals. The dressing should be changed in accordance with applicable medical standards. In particular, this should be carried out under aseptic conditions. The white side of the dressing, which is placed on the wound, must therefore not come into contact with non-sterile hands/gloves or instruments. The wound pad should not be squeezed before use. HydroClean is placed on the wound with the white side facing down, so that the blue lettering faces upwards. HydroClean must be in contact with the wound bed and should overlap the wound edges. Deep wounds can be packed with HydroClean Cavity and covered with HydroClean. HydroClean should be secured using suitable materials. HydroClean is also suitable for use under compression bandages or stockings. The dressing must be changed when medically indicated or, at the latest, after three days. A dressing change is indicated when the absorption capacity is exhausted or the dressing dries out prematurely. In most cases, HydroClean can be removed from the wound without causing any additional pain. If the wound pad adheres to the wound, the dressing can be irrigated with a sterile physiological saline or Ringer’s solution before removal to loosen the adhesion.
