Hyalotend 20 mg/2 ml prefilled syringe is a medical device for the treatment of pain and stiffness in tendinopathies of the upper and lower extremities.
The peritendinous injection of hyaluronic acid for tendinopathy:

- Hyaluronic acid with 500-730k: This is the most studied molecular weight for tendinopathies. It has optimal rheological properties at the injection site and is easy to inject.

In which cases can I recommend Hyalotend® and what effect does it have on the patient?
Hyalotend® is indicated for the treatment of pain and stiffness of the upper and lower extremities in tendinopathy, including the following localisations:
- Tendinopathy of the Achilles tendon
- Tendinopathy of the patellar tendon
- Hamstring tendinopathy
- Plantar fasciitis
- Tendinopathy in the shoulder cuff
- Insertional tendinopathy in the upper arm - "tennis elbow", "golfer's elbow"
- Tendovaginitis stenosans de Quervain in the wrist
How does Hyalotend® work?
- Hyaluronic acid is produced in the normal tendon sheath, where it acts as a lubricant for the smooth movement of the tendon. It is also a major component of the extracellular matrix of the tendon, buffering external shocks and protecting against trauma. In addition, HA has an influence on viability, metabolic activity, apoptosis and collagen expression in tenocytes and supplies the tendon with nutrients.
- Interrupted training activities change the morphology of the tendon and its metabolic activity, which in turn leads to reduced extensibility and matrix degeneration and thus to tendinopathy.5 Tendinopathies can also result from degenerative changes.
- Hyalotend® consists of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA 500-730 kDa), the main component of the extracellular matrix. In addition, repeated injections of HA 500-730 kDa in untrained patellar tendons showed a high effectiveness on tenocyte morphology, survival, proliferation and synthesis performance.
- Through these mechanisms, Hyalotend® accelerates the regeneration of tissue defects and restores their functionality
